DA calls on mayor to stop unrest
The unrest started after the municipality demolished the satellite offices of home affairs without following the correct procedure.

SEKHUKHUNE- The Democatic Alliance in the Fetakgomo Local Municipality called on the mayor Cllr Elizabeth Sefala to urgently intervene in the community unrest at Ga Nchabeleng that has lead to learners being prevented to attend school.
The unrest started after the municipality demolished the satellite offices of home affairs without following the correct procedure.
“Since September 9 residents have barricaded roads with burning tires and prevented all the learners from going to school. The bus and taxi commuters are also being affected by the unrest,”said DA Cllr Derick Mosoana.
“The municipality had failed to give residents a thorough explanation why the offices were demolished,” he continued.
Mosoana added the party’s primary concerns were the education of the local children and residents’s safety. “Failure to address the community’s concerns, is proof that the municipality is failing the people. We therefore urge the mayor to urgently intervene by engaging all relevant stakeholders and the community to resolve these issues,” he urged.
