MASHISHING – The staff members of Mashishing Clinic are reeling from shock of the loss of a loving colleague who loved life, Ms Lydia Chiloane.

Mourners gathered at the clinic on Friday for a memorial service to honour Chiloane who had worked there as an admin clerk. To celebrate her life they gathered to sing and reminisce about all the special moments they had shared with her. The Gogo’s choir kicked off the ceremony before the pastor shared the Word of God.

Her daughter, Ms Precious Chiloane (27) said she didn’t know how she would survive without her mother.

“My mom was always there for me, every time I felt lost and needed advice, she would hold my hand.”

Ms Poppie Masango, a close friend, said when she entered the gate on Friday morning, the tent outside reminded her that her friend was gone and would not come back.

Ms Julia Tebele, a member of the staff at the clinic, said she would miss the moments when they would make fun of one of their colleagues every time they showed up to work wearing a skirt. “It is sad that now all I have is memories and I will never again share my jokes with her.”

Chiloane was known for her loving heart and the advice she would hand out to everyone around her.

She died after suffering from an illness that had been troubling her for a while. She was buried on Saturday October 25.
