Pupils celebrate a year of excellence

Glittering trophies and piles of certificates were handed out during Hazyview Primary's year-end prize-giving ceremony.

Hazyview Primary’s annual prize- giving on November 22 was a celebration of excellence. There was praise and worship led by Past Tom Sainsbury, as well as dancing and singing by pupils.

Certificates and trophies were given to the learners who excelled in sport and academics.

The top achievers of each grade were

Grade one: Khosi Ngobe

Grade two: Nsovo Mashele

Grade three: Faith Fankomo

Grade four: Mthokozisi Khumalo (88 per cent)

Grade five: Nyiko Selauli (92 per cent)

Grade six: Lisa Silinda (93 per cent)

Grade seven: Siphesihle Maleta (90 per cent).

The trophy for best athlete was awarded to Nicolette Mabunda in grade seven and the prize for best chess players went to Junior Mokoena and Leroyce Matukane.

At the end of the function the prefects of 2015 were announced: Itumaleng Mathebula, Kulani Mabaso, Nadine Ndlovu, Samantha Chimbwanda, Siphokazi Mhaule, Vanessa Chiloane, Atlegang Sekgobela, Corina Khoza, Delight Mdhluli, Lisa Silinda, Mmagauta Malele, Nolwazi Maphanga, Ponisani Sithole, Darryl Shabangu, Joshua Silinda, Jackie Hassin, Jony Phiri, Khenso Sihlangu, Mamelisi Fakude, Prince Massam and Provide Mokoena.
