During a recent Read-a-thon competition at the White River Library, pupils impressed the judges with their expressive reading. The annual competition aims to cultivate a love and passion for reading and grades R to 10 pupils from various schools in the area are invited to participate.
Accelerated Academy did very well this year and received the runner-up trophy for coming overall second in the competition.
The top pupils in each grade were rewarded with certificates and trophies. Lihle Mavuso (Gr 2) came in fourth place, Minette Kotze (Gr 9) was in third place and Leoné Pietersen (Gr 6) and Tsepiso Moloi (Gr 10) both received a first-place trophy.
