MBOMBELA – Looking forward to a long and well-deserved holiday, but what to do with your pets is driving you bonkers?
Here are a few tips to make it easier:
• Visit the pet-boarding kennels before agreeing to place your animals there
• Ask for a tour of the facilities and introduce yourself to the staff
• Good kennels will have friendly staff who enjoy being with the pets and the facilities will be clean and tidy
• Look for kennels which are well designed with a separate sleeping area and a run and make sure that it is large enough
• If your animals react negatively to excessive noises and smells, make sure the surroundings will work for them
• Make sure that boarded pets at the kennel at that point, are looking relaxed, happy and well and seem comfortable with the staff.
It will and should take time before you decide on a kennel, so don’t wait too long to start the search.
