Newbies eager to start learning at new premises

Eagles View Academy's first group of grade ones had lots of fun during their first day of school.

The town’s newest double-medium private school, Eagles View Primary, was up and running on the first day of the school year. Their first group of grade ones had so much fun that even the teacher’s face was covered with crayon and pen from helping them colouring in pictures.

Ms Janine du Toit says they didn’t need the tissue box as the 10 new pupils couldn’t wait to start learning and just wanted to know when they were going to start with their work. Twins Temashivakati and Lukhambule Tfwala are also part of this year’s grade one group.

Teaching staff were very excited to start the new year at their new premises on the Plaston Road. Principle Elbe Basson said it was a good start to the year, with two Afrikaans grade R’s joining the school, and construction of the new school building set to start in March.
