Birthday celebration takes to the streets
A splendid birthday celebration for 11-year-old Nadia van der Westhuizen had community members in town waving, cheering and staring last Friday afternoon.
LYDENBURG – A splendid birthday celebration for 11-year-old Nadia van der Westhuizen had community members in town waving, cheering and staring last Friday afternoon. The birthday girl and friends were driving around town in a Land Rover decorated with colourful balloons.
Trudie, mother of the birthday girl, said she wanted to make her daughter’s birthday special and that is when she came up with the idea of making a surprise birthday celebration.
“When we are done with this we will continue our celebration with goodies, games and cake. I want it to be a day to remember,” she said. Nadia said she was happy to spend her special day with her friends.
