Have your cake and eat it- FranZet turns one

The local cake shop, FranZet celebrated its first birthday by giving community members free cake on Tuesday February 10.

LYDENBURG – The local cake shop, FranZet celebrated its first birthday by giving community members free cake on Tuesday February 10.

People lined up throughout the day to enjoy free cakes, cupcakes, tarts, drink juice and champagne. The event was a way of celebrating the shop’s achievements.

According to owner Ms Fransie Reynecke, it was a gesture of appreciation to the community for its support. “We want to celebrate with community members since they are the ones who support us, so we saw it fit to share our birthday cake with them,” she said.

Since its humble beginning last February, the shop has gone from strength to strength. “We would like to say thank you to those who came to celebrate with us,” she added.

“We will be having a Valentine’s Day celebration and we urge the community to come and join us,” said Reynecke.
