Thieves steal school property and vandalise classrooms

"Everything is destroyed; we just don’t know how to start with our work, this situation is derailing our learners."

DIPHALE-  Mohlala Morudi secondary school has been burgled again, locals say brazen criminals are targeting their school as it was robbed  15 times in the past two years. This past weekend, the thugs did what they do best as they robbed  the school for the  15th  time.

According to the principal, Mr Elvis Tlomatsana they previously reported  cases ranging from damage to property, house breaking and theft at the Mecklenburg police station but to this day, no suspect was arrested.

The thugs smeared jeyes fluid and pine gel on the principal’s desk, they threw learners’ scripts, stole computers, tinned fishes, bags of maize meal, sport attires and bulbs, they also vandalized some classrooms. Several notes were also left on the principal’s desk with insulting and derogatory statements.

Tlomatsana say there are no mark sheets and the learners won’t be receiving their quarterly reports.

“Everything is destroyed; we just don’t know how to start with our work, this situation is derailing our learners.”

Meanwhile the community members held a bosberaad meeting were they identified several suspects that are linked to the theft .The locals said they will search the homes of the suspects and beat them, if found with the stolen items.
