Fitness model makes it two in a row
This was the second time she competed and also her second win. Carmen, a student at NWU, said the show was the most difficult one she had ever prepared for.
Barbertonian Carmen Botha (21), athlete and IFBB fitness model, once again proved that hard work pays off. On Saturday she took part in the IFBB Millennium Gold Plate Fitness and bodybuilding show in Kempton Park.
This was the second time she competed and also her second win. Carmen, a student at NWU, said the show was the most difficult one she had ever prepared for.
“This was due to head space not being in the right place,” she said. “Your head plays a big role in the outcome. I doubted myself a lot through this prep.”
Only top-quality athletes took part and the competition was very tough. “Varsity also took most of my time and being a student I had to prioritise. My sponsors, Fitness Lifestyle, backed me all the way, supporting me and supplying me with the best nutrition whey protein, BCAA, CLA and pre-workout.”
Carmen said her mother, family, friends and fiancé, as well as her trainer, is the best support system she has.
“Discipline is just choosing between what you want now and what you want most.”
