Court orderly accused of murder

He was charged in 2013 in the same court building where he used to serve as an officer of the peace.

A former orderly of the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court appeared on a murder charge last week.

He was charged in 2013 in the same court building where he used to serve as an officer of the peace.

Mr Sibusiso Irvin Mkhonto stands accused of the murder of Mr Mthunsi Sherriff Sibuya on February 9, 2013. It is alleged that Mkhonto shot Sibuya, whose body was reportedly found close to his motor vehicle in a driveway in KaNyamazane.

A post-mortem indicated that Sibuya had been shot in his left shoulder and that the bullet raptured his aorta and went through his right lung before exiting his body.

More than two litres of blood filled the victim’s chest cavity and he died as a result. The case stood down for a postponement on Thursday and his next court date has not been confirmed yet.
