Kellysville and Marambane choirs make schools proud

Many institutions took part in this singing competition

KELLYSVILLE – On Saturday May 9 learners participated in the annual South African School Choir Eisteddfod 2015, subregion competition at the local primary school.

Many institutions took part in this singing competition.Kellysville Primary School won various prizes on that day.

According to a teacher from the school, Ms Janria Augustyn, the event was a good one for their learners.

“The junior choir was first in the infant Afrikaans section and in second place in the junior Afrikaans section.”The senior choir was second in the senior Afrikaans category and third in the folklore section,” said Augustyn.

The senior choir is moving on to the next phase of this annual competition which will be held from May 29 to May 31 in Bushbuckridge.

“We would like to congratulate them and wish them all the best with the next round,” she said.

Marambane Primary School in Mashishing was among the schools that participated and they took six trophies home.

The intermediate choir was first in the Afrikaans, isiZulu and English sections.

The boys were in first place in the intermediate isiZulu category and first in the infant isiZulu section. The school also won the junior English category.KellysvilleJuniorChoir (800 x 450)
