LHS pupil humbled by Speaker’s invite

Ngcoba said she was overwhelmed when she heard the good news and although she was very nervous, she was at the same time excited and humbled by the invitation.

MBOMBELA – Sinenhlanhla Ngcobe, a grade-11 learner of Lowveld High School (LHS), has been invited as the guest of the Speaker of the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature, Ms Thandi Shongwe, to the 2015 Africa Day celebrations on Saturday.

This invitation came as a “big suprise”, Ngcobe said. “Shortly after the Lowvelder published an article on the stand LHS took against the xenophobic attacks, the school received a fax from the Speaker, inviting me to deliver a short message in relation to the theme of the event,” Ngcobe explained. The theme of this year’s Africa Celebration is: “We are Africa, say no to Xenophobia”.

Ngcoba said she was overwhelmed when she heard the good news and although she was very nervous, she was at the same time excited and humbled by the invitation.
