LHS learners make their voices heard

But what makes this achievement more memorable is the fact that LHS received a first place for an Afrikaans piece.

MBOMBELA – The choir members of Lowveld High School (LHS) without a doubt know their notes.

This choir recently returned home with two first, two second and three third places from the first round of the South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod competition in KaNyamazane.

But what makes this achievement more memorable is the fact that LHS received a first place for an Afrikaans piece.

“The results have gone a long way to showing how hard the kids have worked,” Bongani Mavundla, the choirmaster, said.

According to him the highest level they have reached thus far is provincial, but this year they are hope to reach the nationals.

The choir will participate in the next round on May 31.
