Pupils rewarded for their outstanding results

Eight pupils with exceptional talent recently received scholarship awards from Uplands College.

These annual awards attracted 106 grade sevens from 42 primary schools in the Lowveld, Johannesburg, Swaziland, Mozambique and Botswana. This resulted in a very diverse group of children from various areas.

The aim was to attract quality children from a large area to the school and any grade seven pupil was allowed to enter. Every award carried with it certain benefits, tailor-made to the specific award.

The following awards were handed out to pupils who performed exceptionally during the scholarship examinations:

• Thapelo Mmadi of St Peters Mbombela received the College Open Academic Scholarship Award.

• Izabella Carvalho of Uplands Preparatory and Anathi Nkosi of St Peters Mbombela received college awards.

• Leonard Brugman of Uplands Preparatory received the College Cultural Award.

• Kayla Schefermann of Penryn Prep School, Frederich de Koker of Usutu Forest Primary in Swaziland and Hopewell Sidell of Laerskool Bergland all received College Sports Awards.

• Campbell Davies-Webb of Uplands Preparatory was awarded the “All Rounder” Sports Award.

The school would like to congratulate all the recipients on this outstanding accomplishment.
