Former pupil donates shoes and socks to Marifaan Primary school children

"I want to give back to the community by making a difference in the pupils' lives at my previous school," Shadung said.

SKHILA – The faces of 20 learners of Marifaan Primary School were beaming when they received brand-new school shoes and socks on Wednesday June 10.

Ms Mmasello Shadung, a former pupil, has started an initiative in which she donates shoes and socks to the less fortunate.

“I want to give back to the community by making a difference in the pupils’ lives at my previous school,” Shadung said.

According to her, she loves organising projects that benefits kids in the community. “I love children and I know how much some of them need a new pair of shoes especially now in the cold weather,” she explained.

According to the principal, Mr Galie Lusenga, the school was truly grateful to see a former learner making a difference. “It brings me so much joy to see what she’s doing for others, we hope many other people will follow in her footsteps,” Lusenga said.
