Early Christmas for pet lovers

According to them all animals qualify for the discount but added that they are especially targeting animals over three years.

MBOMBELA – Van Wijk Street Animal Hospital recently announced that they will be giving 20 per cent discount on spays and castration from 20 – 24 July.

“We understand that times can be tough and thought that we could try and help those people that want to sterilise/castrate but just can afford it,” the animal hospital said on facebook.

According to them all animals qualify for the discount but added that they are especially targeting animals over three years.

“Older male animals are predisposed to things like testicular cancer, prostate cancer and anal gland cancer. The probability of your pet developing these diseases can be decreased by castrating him,” the hospital said adding that older female dogs also develop mammary cancer (breast cancer) and reproductive organ infection (pyometra) that are life threatening. According to the animal hospital Pyometra will be prevented and breast cancer probability reduced by sterilising a pet.

This offer will only be for the week of 20 – 24 July.
