Local lass crowned SA Champion

Local athlete and International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness South Africa (IFBB SA) model, Carmen Botha (22), has done it again. On Sunday she took part in the Weider Nutrition IFBB SA Championships at Sandton Convention Centre and kicked dust in the eyes of many formidable opponents when she became the overall SA champion in the Fitness Bikini class.
Carmen, who was supposed to compete in the u/23 category, decided to compete in the open class. This class goes by height and anyone under 169cm can take part. On top of that she also won the line-up out of eight competitors. In this competition all the winners of the different line-ups compete for the overall trophy.
“Never in my wildest dreams have I thought I would achieve such a high point in my fitness career – especially at my age. All the women were in tip-top shape and it was such a privilege to compete against the best of the best,” said Botha. Well done from everyone in Barberton!
