Three lives lost on the Badplaas Road
According to an eyewitness, Franchoa Giliomee he had earlier overtaken the truck as well as the cash-in-transit vehicle but pulled off the road.

Three more lives were claimed in an accident on the Badplaas Road at approximately 14:00 today.
Two women and one man travelling in a red Volkswagen Passat on their way to Badplaas died when a truck, with a cargo of mealie meal, overtook a cash-in-transit vehicle on a bend and crashed into the Passat.
Another vehicle, a blue Mazda travelling behind the latter was also involved, however, the woman was fortunate to escape unharmed.
According to an eyewitness, Franchoa Giliomee he had earlier overtaken the truck as well as the cash-in-transit vehicle but pulled off the road.
Giliomee also said he earlier saw the truck overtake a Scania on a bend at high speed. Moments after he turned back onto the road the accident happened.
There was a distance of approximately 50 metres between the point of impact and where the vehicles had come to a standstill. The Passat was dragged by the truck which overturned.
According to the driver of the truck the incident was caused by brake failure.
A case of reckless and negligent driving has been opened by the SAPS and will be investigated.
