Westvaal Delta Daisy attracts many players

Despite the scorching heat about 170 players took part in the competition throughout the week.

The Daisy Golf Tournament was held in Barberton for the 42nd time last week. This time the tournament was named the Westvaal Delta Daisy, due to Barberton Westvaal in conjunction with Wesbank and Castrol being its main sponsors.

Being one of the oldest clubs in South Africa, Barberton Golf Club once again drew players from all over. Despite the scorching heat about 170 players took part in the competition and the club management made certain everyone had a great time socialising at the clubhouse every evening after a day on the greens.

The main competition was held on Saturday with the prize-giving during the evening.
Chairman of the club, Hannes Boshoff thanked the sponsors for their support without which none of this would have been possible.

Flip van der Berg from Barberton Westvaal said that it was decided that they would be sponsoring the event again in 2016.

Winners of the main competition who received prizes on the night were as follows:

First: Werner Swanepoel – 39 points
Second: Michael Scullard – 38 points
Third: Ulrich Mostert – 38 points
Fourth: Markie van der Bergh – 38 points
Fifth: Rassie Breedt – 38 points
The overall winner was Derek Scullard who played every day of the competition and came out tops on all four days.
