Grade 3s treated to a sleepover of fun
The children were spoilt to delicious meals and given the opportunity to develop their leadership skills by participating in many outdoor activities and games.
Penryn had its annual grade 3 sleepover on Thursday October 15. This is always a highlight of their year as they get to spend a night away at Ekukhanyeni with their friends and teachers.
The pupils were entertained with an array of exciting activities. The wet weather did not dampen their spirits whatsoever and life-long memories were made. Highlights included archery, the zip line, hiking, shelter building, building a camp fire and star gazing.
The children were spoilt to delicious meals and given the opportunity to develop their leadership skills by participating in many outdoor activities and games. Working as a team was the highlight of the camp and teamwork was put to the test during the treasure hunt.
This theme was evident throughout the programme and provided an opportunity for positive social interaction between the children and nature making full use of the breathtaking and less-formal learning environment.
