New staff members at the school includes Vincent Gelderblom, who joined Uplands from St David’s in Johannesburg. He will be heading up the new boarding house at the College, Goss House, and will be Head of Department Commerce.
Ashleigh Ernstzen joins Uplands from Penryn College and takes up a post as Head of Department Life Sciences. Marcel Cornelius comes to the Lowveld from Parklands in Cape Town and will be teaching Afrikaans.
Une Rakale and Robyn-Lee Fielding both matriculated at Uplands in 2006. Robyn-Lee joins Uplands as a Natural Science, Physical Science and Maths teacher and Une is an Intern. Monica Clarke, also a past pupil, is now teaching English and Natural Science.
