Local police and VEP launch campaign at Shopiano Primary

BURGERSFORT – The local police and victim empowerment programme (VEP) hosted a back-to-school campaign at Shopiano Primary School in Longtill last Thursday.

During the initiative police addressed the learners about the disadvantages of bullying and, they also gave them the opportunity to participate in questionnaires. Those who participated, received lunch boxes and rulers. Eight disadvantaged learners also received school shirts.

Const Victoria Maluleka, police spokesman said, “The purpose of our campaign is to remind learners that crime can disrupt their future.

“It will be conducted throughout the year at schools in the Tubatse Circuit. Next on our schedule is Masupe High School at Ga Phasha and Ikhwezi Preschool.”
