Top athletes to go to nationals
Athletes who qualified for their Mpumalanga colours will later in the year participate in the nationals.
On Saturday, athletes from Gateway Christian School had to brave a icy cold Ermelo during the Southern African Christian School’s Sports Association (SACSSA) inter-school athletics.
However, this weather in no way affected their performance and the teachers and parents were all very proud of the athletes who did so well.
Athletes who qualified for their Mpumalanga colours will later in the year participate in the nationals.
They were as follows:
Chandré Ehlers: Girls u/10 – Shot put; Long jump
Hannah Joubert: Girls u/13 – Javelin; Long jump
Monique Pretorius: Girls u/14 – 800m; 1500m
Taylor Iori: Girls u/15 – Javelin
Sean Modondo: Boys u/12 – 1200m
Sihle Mavuso: Boys u/15 – Discus; Shot put
Renaldo Cordeiro: Boys u/17 – Javelin
José Ehlers: Boys u/17 – 100m; 200m; 800m and Shot put
