Woman of praise to hit our stage

Khulul' ugcobo gospel hit-maker, Nothando Hlophe, is one of the artists set to light up the stage at the Nkomazi Youth Night of Worship at KaMhlushwa Community Hall on July 1.

This will be the second time the gospel music festival is held and community members can look forward to Sihle Zwane, Nondomiso Nhlekho and Linda Dlamini.

Viols of Praise will perform, as will Precious Mosotho from Women in Praise. Local artist, Ian Calf, will also share the stage with these nationally and internationally known artists and groups.

Nothando Hlope visited Corridor Gazette on Tuesday to chat about her performance and said fans had a lot to look forward to.

“Singing is preaching, because we are spreading the gospel through our singing. I also open up and hear what the Lord has to say, even the sick should join and expect a touch from the Almighty. As we sing, He will be ministering,” Hlophe said.

Her music career changed when she won the Women in Praise competition in Swaziland last year. She has since performed with Zaza Mokhethi on a live DVD recording, and was part of Benjamin Dube’s Spirit of Praise team.

This will be Hlophe’s first solo in Nkomazi and she will also launch her new album, Impilo yami.

Fans should not miss this special performance as she will sing new songs on stage for the first time.

Tickets will go on sale on May 1 at R50 per person, available at Nkomazi FM’s offices in Malalane or from Sibusiso Hlope on 079-387-3659.

Organisers will visit various churches over the next few weeks to promote the event.
