Entries are open for SACBW’s annual Businesswoman of the Year Awards
There are only a few weeks left to enter for the annual Businesswoman of the Year Awards. Entries close on May 31.
MBOMBELA – Entries have opened for the annual Businesswoman of the Year Awards and the local branch of the South African Council for Business Women (SACBW) is confident its members will walk away with top honours once again.
The Mbombela branch of the SACBW has been named the council’s top branch for five consecutive years, and its members also perform well in the individual awards.
The awards aim to uplift and recognise women for their outstanding accomplishments.
Turnover-related categories are for small businesses with a turnover up to R5 million, medium businesses with a turnover of up to R15 million, and large businesses with a turnover in excess of R15 million.
Other categories include professional businesswoman of the year for those with their own business or at least a 50 per cent partnership in a practice.
The corporate and SMME categories are for females who own and manage corporate enterprises and non-governmental organisations with more than 200 employees and fewer than 200 employees, respectively.
The government SACBW businesswoman of the year caters for women in government and parastatals.
Females working for non-profit organisations have their own category, as do emerging entrepreneurs.
Regional judging for entries from Mpumalanga takes place on June 14 and entries close on May 31. T
his leaves prospective winners with only a few weeks to complete their entries.
Past entrants and winners have told Lowvelder, as it helps businesswomen to identify the strengths, weaknesses and gaps in their strategic direction.
Entrants are also afforded the opportunity to attend presentation and networking events with key business representatives and like-minded business people.
