Mokati Mining provides excellent services

"This means supply of the Atlas Copco products, repairs and refurbishment is now done locally by Mokati Mining Services and this confirms the commitment of these large businesses to support local SMMEs through enterprise development initiatives."

Mokati Mining Services (Pty) Ltd, an authorised distributor of Atlas Copco invited Steelpoort businesses to its customer day on July 5.

The event was attended by Atlas Copco representatives, Messrs Len Botha, Koos le Roux, Etienne Valentine and Phillip du Plessis.

There were also representatives from local mining companies, prospective and existing customers, and leaders from local communities.

Speaking to Steelburger/Lydenburg News, Mokati Mining Services’ managing director, Mr Moreme Mmola confided, “This ceremony marked two things about the relationship between Mokati Mining Services and Atlas Copco.

“It reveals that Mokati Mining Services is a local enterprise development initiative of Atlas Copco and also introduces Mokati Mining Services as an authorised distributor for Atlas Copco.”

Some of the products on display were the Secoroc 215 rock drill, spares, jackhammer and airlegs. Mmola said the Secoroc 215 was taking the market by storm.

“It is designed to shut off the flushing water when the machine is not on drilling mode. This guarantees that the water consumption is kept to a minimum. The rock drill is one important part in the drilling operation,” said Le Roux.

Mokati Mining took the visitors through a tour of its 12 000-square metre workshop to showcase their CNC machining, drilling rods refurbishment, rock-drill and pumps repairs.

Mmola said, “Our workshop is capable of repairing CNC machining and refurbishment of various products from mainly the mining, municipality and other industries. The company also has top-quality spare parts and accessories.

“This means supply of the Atlas Copco products, repairs and refurbishment is now done locally by Mokati Mining Services and this confirms the commitment of these large businesses to support local SMMEs through enterprise development initiatives.”

Le Roux said his company appointed Mokati Mining Services as an authorised distributor to ensure it continued to drive local enterprise development initiatives and incorporating the local businesses into their supplier value chain.

Mokati Mining services also boasts various machinery and equipment that include collar crimping machines, drill-bit grinding machines, CNC machines and rock-drill test benches and sand-blasting systems.
