Motorcyclists throttle up the heat

LYDENBURG – The Slayers Motorcyclist Club conducted a blanket run in town on Saturday.

As part of giving back to the community, the bikers asked residents to donate blankets which were handed over to the Pinkster Protestante Kerk.

They gathered early that morning at M.A.T’s Place and rode through town before handing over the blankets to the church. Slayers MC is a motorcycle club that started in 2015 and is growing from strength to strength.

The president, Frik Ungerer said, “We did not expect such a big contribution from the public and truly appreciate it.

“We would not have had a successful event if they had not joined us on our quest.”

The blanket collection will continue in future. “Those who want to make a contribution can contact Soekie on 060-774-0481. Your offerings will make a huge difference to those in need,” said Ungerer.
