Horizon Academy recently sent a group of pupils to Mbombela to compete in the annual Eisteddfod. This was the first time pupils from the school had competed and they were awarded an outstanding A+ for undramatised poetry.
The Eisteddfod consists of several categories including dramatised poetry, singing, piano and other musical instruments, choir and group performances. Pupils from various age groups are judged by experts in the various fields and awarded certificates with gold and A++ being the highest honours.
