LYDENBURG – Hoërskool Lydenburg’s class of 2016 paraded their elegant dresses and suits on Friday August 19 at the matric farewell. It was an exquisite and sophisticated event.

Fashion was not the only thing that marked the occasion – the extravagant cars ranged from the fastest, most vintage and most unique.

Some of the cars even matched the couple’s outfits. The matriculants were treated like royalty as they walked down the red carpet with their partners while their loved ones applauded to their hearts content.

The matric dance is one of the most important days for grade 12 pupils, and they all looked forward to it.

It is a proud and emotional moment for parents to see their children taking the walk that signals the end of years of hard work and growth.

The school was decorated for the affair and afterwards the pupils went to the Yellow Wood wedding venue at the Coromandel area to celebrate.
