Proud moment as new leaders are annouced

As part of the school's ongoing tradition, parents were given the opportunity to pin their children's prefect badges onto their school uniforms.

LYDENBURG – It was a proud moment when Hoërskool Lydenburg officially announced the 2016/2017 prefects on Wednesday, August 24.

Parents were invited to be part of this prestigious event. As part of the school’s ongoing tradition, parents were given the opportunity to pin their children’s prefect badges onto their school uniforms.

The new head boy is Hein van Zyl and the head girl is Leandri Kelly.

Sabeeha Noor Mohammed Cassim and Shaan Brits are respectively the head girl and boy for academics. Anje Nieuwoudt and Diaan Lombard are the head girl and boy for sports. Karl Buitendach and Tacita Black are the head boy and girl for culture. Bianca Vercueil and Cornu Cross are the hostels’ head girl and head boy.

Other newly elected prefects include: (girls) Kekeletso Kgwetiane, Suné Booyse, Charné Adlam, Carly van Vuuren, Sonay Labuschagne, Annrie du Toit, Khanyisile Ndhlovu, Sojana Botha, Sara-Lee Gibley and Lindiwe Mnisi. The boys are Joshua Langa, Jenandré Combrink, Keegan Clarke, Julius Ackermann, Tristan Bardenhorst, Felix Mbanjwa, Adrian Swanepoel, Egbert Hiemstra, Lifa Matau, Conference Mokoena and Samokelo Lithuli.
