Lanies raring to start learning

Wide-eyed, nervous and excited grade ones were among the crowd, some eager to explore and make new friends, while others stayed close to mom and dad until the bell rang.

MALALANE – The usual organised chaos reigned at Laerskool Malelane on the first day of the new school year.

There were a few tears among the new Lanies, but several moms got teary-eyed when the time came for goodbyes.

A total of 68 grade one pupils enrolled at the school. Among them are the Greene triplets, Skye, Storm and Rayne, who smiled brightly for the camera when dad Rory accompanied them to class.

According to the principal, Gerben Janse van Rensburg, the first day was problem-free and the learners were able to start with academic activities without any interruption.

“Our motto for 2017 is ‘Be positive’. I believe that the answer to success lies in positivity. Laerskool Malelane is an excellent school with wonderful educators, staff members and children. We are looking forward to yet another successful year. As always, we dream big and fly high!” Janse van Rensburg said.
