Highlands Colour festival

BURGERSFORT – For the pupils of Highlands College, school is not just about learning, but also about giving.

It held a colour run last Friday, all in the name of charity. The aim was to raise money for animals in need.

Everyone was instructed to wear white clothes. Then pupils were given bags filled with coloured powder and sent off to the playground to have ball.

Even teachers could not escape the pupils and soon were as bright as the kids.

“The colour run was part of a fund-raising for Animal Allies in Johannesburg. We donated R2 000 to this organisation; it feeds and helps abandoned animals.

“Highlands College also does a great deal of fund-raising to help people in and around the town who struggle,” said principal, Fatima Mahomed.
