Cicada is celebrating their birthday this month and would like to invite the community to come and celebrate it with them by enjoying their amazing food and cocktails, as well as some great specials on a variety of menu items!

History

The journey began in October 2007. With only 80 seats, the restaurant was a small, intimate spot for the older crowd to come in and enjoy a quiet dinner. The menu has always been fairly diverse – catering for a range of different tastes, from fresh sushi, to great burgers, and juicy steaks.

In 2013 the brand was given a facelift and the shop was given a revamp too. The target market fast became a younger, trendy crowd with an emphasis placed on a good vibe, food to share and cocktails. The Craft Bar was a welcome edition in 2015 – doubling the seating space – and making Cicada an attractive destination for patrons to host birthday parties and other celebrations.

Not only has the interior undergone a facelift as well as adding a craft bar, but the food- and cocktail menu has also been expanded and adapted to what the patrons enjoy, offering a new selection of sushi, steaks and burgers.

Some of the favourites at Cicada include: Biltong Cigars, Zulu Sushi, the Cicada Burger and Camembert Samosas.

Craft Bar

Cicada’s Craft Bar has a selection of at least 36 craft beers at any given time, change subject to availability.

The Bar has 4 craft drafts on tap that include Jack Black, Lager, Growler Roaring Red Ale, Brannas (Brandy and Coke) on Tap and Eish Tea (Alcoholic lemon ice tea), as well as the conventional Castle Lite and Heineken.
