BURGERSFORT – The Hawks have assured the public that they are making progress in their investigations on the alleged land scandal that involves Fetakgomo, Greater Tubatse, Coghsta and the Limpopo Treasury.
The investigation unit revealed that certain officials from the three departments are implicated in the scandal.
This follows the Auditor-General’s report that the land was sold for R4 million and bought back for more than R116 million.
“We can confirm that the case has been referred to us for further investigations. We have already met with relevant departments. The officials told us there were some documents that were supposed to be furnished to us.
“I’m quite sure by now those documents are with us. So, we are taking this matter in a very serious light.
“We can’t give you a time frame as it is and hopefully we’ll give you details once everything has been completed,” said Hawks spokesman, Hangwani Mulaudzi.
Mulaudzi revealed that they have questioned two officials from Coghsta’s financial department.
