This is the third time Jaco and Adriano Dos Santos have won this award. “Since we took over this business in 2002, we have enabled 500% growth,” said Adriano. This is just phenomenal and the result of a number of new initiatives which were implemented.

“Of course, you will always find either me or Jaco on site. This means that should a customer have a query, it will be attended to by one of us – not a manager or supervisor. This hands-on approach has boosted our customer service ratings to levels never seen before.

“For us it is all about convenience. To support this philosophy we created Snappy – an application which allows the customer on the forecourt, to order anything and everything from our convenience store while he/she is having the car fuelled up. The software was developed locally in Mbombela and was the first of its kind – still the only in the Lowveld though – and this but one service that sets us apart from all our competitors.”

What does the future hold for Mbombela’s favourite filling station and convenience store? “Wow, we are going to blow your minds this November,” said Adriano.

“Convenience on your way to home will never ever be the same. We are going to blow all your expectations sky-high. Shell in Ferreira Street will become your preferred stop. In fact, this new venture is so radical, it may well motivate some residents to relocate to be closer to us. So take that and chew on it.

“And while you do that, try the convenience of using our WhatsApp ordering system – it’s just the best. The best in Mbombela will be setting the benchmark on convenience and not even our famous peri-peri sauce will be able to top it.
