Ponties Panelbeaters are always willing to help you in any accident
It has been suggested that people do business with people and not with companies.

In our age, and with what many consider an overpopulated marketing and social media environment, research is showing that there is a desire from the buying public to return to the authentic experience of face-to-face business interaction.
Ponties Panel Beaters was established in 1972 by Pontie Esterhuizen who, at the time owned one of the most successful multi-franchise dealerships in the country. His main brand though, was BMW. “In those years a BMW could be bought for R6 000.
Today, just replacing the door of a BMW can cost as much as R60 000,” says the now retired 81-year-old Pontie. The reason for us starting the panel beating shop was to enable us to do our own repairs instead of outsourcing the work. Today Ponties is managed by the third-generation Ponties junior. He, as did his mother Lizette, grew up in the business.
He studied business management and in 2011 joined the company full time. “Although we do work on cars and more, our main focus is on commercial and heavy- duty trucks. We are accredited with Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, MAN and Volvo, to name but a few. Our spray booth can thus accommodate a tractor trailer without any hassle. Need your truck’s chassis straightened?
Yes, we can do that! We are the only panel beating company in Mpumalanga that is accredited to work on fuel tankers,” says Pontie junior. “At our 1 000 square metre workshop in Rocky’s Drift we have, among other equipment, a steel bender as well as a CMC plasma cutter.”
Now, with trucks being the size and weight they are, equipping ourselves with all the required jigs and tools is seriously expensive. If this is not enough, we are at this moment also in the process of investing in a courtesy truck trailer. This is our commitment to our customers and to offering a beyond-the-norm service to cut down on downtime and financial losses while we repair a customer’s truck. We also pride ourselves on a 7-day repair service on commercial vehicles.”
“When we won our first Best of Nelspruit award, it was totally unexpected. Winning it again in 2018, makes it four years in a row, so we must be doing more things right than wrong,” says Lizette van Rooyen, Ponties senior’s daughter.
“We are the best because it is our intention to be. Our work ethic and commitment is beyond reproach and in our genes.
Three generations have proved it so. And, if we are not yet your preferred service provider, perhaps it is time to allow us the opportunity,” concluded Ponties junior.
