Department of Public Works, Roads & Transport is offering internship and learnership opportunities

The Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport has 100 opportunities for an Internship Programme on various disciplines within the Department for the 2018/2019 Financial Year.

Internship Programme

Interested young unemployed graduates between 18 and 35 years old with relevant qualifications are invited to apply for the below mentioned opportunities that exist in various departmental offices across the Province which include Bohlabela, Ehlanzeni, Gert Sibande and Nkangala District Offices as well as Head Office and Cost Centres. Successful candidates will receive monthly stipends of R4 500.00 for Diploma and R5 000.00 for Degree graduates. Previous participants in an internship programme in any Government institution will NOT be considered. Preference will be
given to candidates from the Mpumalanga Province.

Applications should be submitted on form Z83 obtainable at any Government Department or at ww.dpsa.gov.za/documents. Under reference number, please write the Reference Unit of the post applying for.

Learnership Programme

The Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport has 60 opportunities for a Learnership Programme as follows:
15 X Bohlabela in Plumbing (NQF Level 4);
15 X Gert Sibande in Plumbing (NQF Level 4);
15 X Nkangala in Electrical Engineering (NQF Level3); and
15 X Ehlanzeni in Carpentry (NQF Level 4)

for the 2018/2019 Financial Year. Interested unemployed persons are invited to apply for the above mentioned opportunities.

Successful candidates for the learnership will be contracted for 12 months with a stipend of R1750.00 per month.

Requirements:
• The applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old, unemployed and must not have entered into a Learnership Programme before.
• In possession of Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate).
• Must be fit to operate heavy construction equipment.
• Applications must be accompanied by a brief CV, certified copies of qualification(s) and ID.

Successful candidates will be informed accordingly. Participants will undergo both theory and practical training for a period of twelve months upon signing of a 12 months contract which is not renewable.
