Preschoolers make waves

Swimming is the only sport that can save a life, either yours or someone else’s.

The Wildgeese Swimming Club recently held a preschool progress gala in the Hoërskool Rob Ferreira pool.

About 90 children, aged between three and eight from Little Lambs, Happy Feet, Kinderland, Plaaswerf, Chunkey Monkeys, Butterflies and Bunnies, Swimrite Nelspruit and Wildgeese beginners, participated.

Each swimmer received a gold medal and doughnuts sponsored by Pick n Pay White River. Butterflies and Bunnies, the preschool with the most entrants, took the floating trophy.

Coach Martie Vitus thanked Hoërskool Rob Ferreira for the use of the pool to host this gala. “Swimming is not only for the love of sport, but the only sport that can save a life, either yours or someone else’s,” she said.
