Hi-Tech’s new eye in the sky will help to curb crime
Thanks to state-of-the-art, eye-in-the-sky, intelligent-camera security technology, Hi-Tech Security can stop a crime before it even happens with physical on the ground security assistance provided by Hi-Tech Security Nelspruit.

Hi-Tech Security has a new control room in White River with staff trained to utilise this brand-new system.

The Axxon VMS system can be programmed to detect suspicious behaviour. It also has a tag-and-track function where a suspicious person is spotted, controllers can tag him or her and cameras will follow all their movements on site.

This incredible system has the ability to do forensic searching, facial recognition, tag and track, object movement tracking, pick up loitering, face searches, licence plate registration searches, stop-in zones and fire detection.

The system then can run facial recognition on suspects standing around from a database of criminal offenders and will immediately alert the control room. Not only can it detect a face, it also notes clothing; if one escapes, the camera can pick up his green jacket or red T-shirt in a crowd.

Also, if suspicious behaviour has been pinpointed at a certain time and place, the camera can be programmed to watch that area for any activity. It can even pinpoint crucial evidence needed when an incident occurs, like check for abandoned objects.
The Axxon VMS system, previously only implemented by governments, has now been developed and packaged for use by the private sector.
West End Shopping Centre in Mbombela has become the flagship for the system and is the first public area in the Lowveld to join with Hi-Tech Corporate, using Axxon as a centre observation and protection system.

This system even gives a retail solution. Millions of rand are lost due to theft in stores. Now monitoring the tellers and clients at points-of-sale is effortless. Often a cashier does not scan a product’s bar code and allows it to go without payment. The system will immediately notify the control room when this happens.

In essence, this means safer living conditions, peace of mind, better law enforcement and increased efficiency in businesses throughout the Lowveld.
Moscow used AxxonSoft, and during the first six months, experienced a 12,5% decrease in burglaries and 33% decrease in vandalism. With South Africa’s ever-increasing crime rate and startling terrorism activities, this groundbreaking initiative will be a welcome assistant in preventing incidents before they take place.
