Biking adventure awaits off-roaders
The event has grown from 90 to 150 entries and hopes to achieve the same or more in the future.

The seventh annual Lowveld Dual Bike Adventure (LDBA) is currently taking place in the area.
Stage 1 started on May 31 at Sanbonani Resort Hotel & Spa and will continue until June 3, with stage 2 starting on June 3 and ending on June 5 or 6 with the Prawn Run at Tenda Tora Lodge in Bilene, Mozambique.
Over the past seven years it has become one of the best adventure-biking events in the country. The organisers believe the success is due to the spectacular and scenic routes of the Mpumalanga Lowveld and the support of all the sponsors and participants.
Rika de Bruyn recently announced Mazda Nelspruit as the new title sponsor. “We are looking forward to partnering with them, hopefully for many years to come,” she said. She also thanked RAD Moto for its support as title sponsor since 2014. “The growth of this event is, for sure, due to their support.”
She invited all brands and dealerships to get involved as silver or bronze sponsors.
This is the only event in Mpumalanga which caters for all makes of bikes registered on the road, and the race offers technical and non-technical gravel routes that are also pillion-friendly.
It includes two days of great riding and day-ride packages for locals. They offer green (easy and pillion-friendly), red (single track) and black (difficult) routes for the riders. “LDBA has grown to be the largest dualbike event for all brands in South Africa, and as an avid lady rider I am proud to have converted my passion into a successful business!” De Bruyn said.
The event has grown from 90 to 150 entries and hopes to achieve the same or more in the future.
It offers routes that can be appreciated by nature lovers, lucky draws, sponsorship opportunities and guest speakers.
This year Dakar finisher Gerry van der Byl will be the guest speaker.
