Through the ages, the Olifants River in Mpumalanga has cut deeply into earth’s surface, leaving a breathtaking valley filled with a variety of indigenous fauna and flora, including the magical lanatus cycad.
Hidden in the Great Olifants River Gorge, tucked in against the banks of the mighty Olifants River, you will find Olifants River Lodge, your Bushveld conference and leisure centre in the middle of the Highveld. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and a river, this secluded Bushveld valley answers to the needs of the nature lover.
The regular call of the fish eagle is greeted by the chirp of the hundreds of species of bird life. Olifants River Lodge is an exceptional venue specialising in all aspects of hospitality. Whether it is for a relaxing family getaway, angling, a wedding, team building or for a corporate conference, Olifants River Lodge has the ideal setting.
The surrounding malaria-free reserve is home to dassies, baboons, vervet monkeys, kudus, rhebucks, iguanas, porcupines and mongooses. And, if you’re lucky, you might even see a leopard.
Other than nature, the lodge offers all amenities expected from a well-equipped resort: indoor heated pools, cold-water pools, hiking, fishing and plenty more.

Olifants River Lodge has nine multipurpose conference rooms, air-conditioned and multimedia equipped with differently sized rooms to suit small to large groups of up to 900 people. Our versatility for various functions, conferences, team building and exhibitions allows us to host any event.
The conference venues are tastefully decorated. Therefore, if you require a formal corporate conference, gala dinner, wedding or birthday party, our rooms can be decorated or draped to suit your Bushveld occasion in the middle of the Highveld.
Team building has become a major tool in the motivation of employees. Olifants River Lodge offers a variety of team-building programs, ranging from recreational activities to adventure sports and team development, designed to complement any conference, function or occasion.
Different types of accommodation are available with leafy camping sites with four ablution blocks all along the Olifants River.
Most of the units are self-catering, but with two restaurants on the premises you can eat in and enjoy real home-cooked food. Olifants River Lodge is situated only one hour and 15 minutes from OR Tambo International Airport, between eMalahleni (Witbank) and Middelburg on the old national road, within a 200-kilometre radius of Gauteng, Mbombela, Vereeniging, Rustenburg and Polokwane.
