Family grateful for recovered scooter

A family were grateful to Hi-Tech Security armed response members after their stolen scooter was recovered.

Paulo Cruz said, “We, the Cruz family who reside in Polvy Avenue, just want to thank Hi-Tech Security for their splendid service, in particular Callen Herbst.”

On Saturday morning, the family awoke to the startling reality that they had been broken into, and one of their prized Vespa motor scooter’s was missing.

“Their team was on site within minutes to attend to our plight. At one stage, I counted four Hi-Tech vehicles outside our gate and I am certain that all of Polvy Avenue was alerted.”

Cruz said Herbst and his team went above and beyond the call of duty by making several calls, testing several leads, driving out to possible drop-off points and hiding areas, and recovering their Vespa within 30 minutes.

“Had it not been for these fine young men, it would have been lost forever to us. Again, please thank Herbst and his team for an outstanding job and thank you, Hi-Tech Security, for the high level of service,” he concluded.

In another incident, a suspect was arrested in Combrink Street on Saturday at around 20:00. Hi-Tech Security regional operations manager Callum MacPherson said, “A member of the public phoned to report that a suspect had stolen a laptop bag with an iPad in it. Our security officers closed off the area and arrested the suspect with the bag in his possession.”
