Salati race a big hit for local cyclists
The Selati Big 5 mountain bike race proves to be a unique experience, no matter what distance you choose.

It was a perfect day for cycling, and part of the route followed was right on the border with the Kruger National Park along the Olifants River. Entrants spotted elephants, hippos, warthogs as well as various antelope species along the way.
Avid riders from Modikwa Cycling Club cycled this race for the fourth year. “Everyone enjoyed the race immensely. Cyclists have been participating in the race for the past four years, and will definitely be back for next year’s race,” said Helgaard Prins. Everyone received a medal upon completion of the race.
Johan Sadler, Helgaard and Juanita Prins took part in the 20 kilometre ride and Darren and Ilse McDonald cycled the 45 kilometre race.
