Four Sekopung men handed hefty sentence for murder

BURGERSFORT – The four men arrested for the double murder of Past James Malapane (75) and Doctor Maile (25) in February 2017 were handed a hefty sentence by the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday. Mathope Phinias Dibakwane, Mogalane Dibakwane ,Thomas Dibakwane and Jacob Moja Makofane were each  handed 20 years imprisonment for murder, arson and damage to property case.

The men from Sekopung attacked the two deceased after a funeral in 2017. The convicted men stoned Malapane and Maile to death. They also torched Malapane’s two vehicles, a Ford Laser and an Fiat Uno Fire, and broke all the windows of his six-roomed house.
