Operation Swara Tsotsi in full swing

BURGERSFORT – As the Steelburger/Lydenburg News warned locals in our last week issue, the Limpopo SAPS ‘s Operation Swara Tsotsi (arrest a criminal) is in full swing in Tubatse.
SAPS members assembled at the Tubatse Crossing Mall as early as 06:00 this morning. They are raiding shops in the CBD as well as arresting criminals that are harassing shoppers in town . So far, two guns, and other armaments were found. Undocumented foreigners, drug users were also nabbed. Cars are also searched and taxi permits are checked, a road block was conducted since yesterday on R37 .

“We are conducting roadblocks, stop-and-search operations, visiting businesses and tracing wanted suspects,” added Masemola.
He emphasised that Operation Swara Tsotsi will continue to be conducted across all districts of the province. Provincial SAPS commissioner Gen Nneke Ledwaba, and Masemola too, approved of the operation’s effectiveness and said that plans to clamp down on hotspot areas are already in place.
