Artists’ works complement each other

The works of talented local ceramicist Annalie Odendaal and artist René Eloff are currently on exhibition at the White River Gallery at Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre.

The exhibition, named Moedertaal was opened on August 10 by fellow artist Liezel Lüneburg, who pondered on the saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Starting off with different definitions of art, she played around with the processes of appreciation until she came to the conclusion that the saying remains indeed true for everybody who looks and enjoys art.

A large audience attended the opening to support Eloff and Odendaal.

On Saturday August 17 Odendaal also hosted a hands-on demonstration, where she shared her process and inspiration in the creation of her pinch pots, raku vessels and figurative sculpture.

Odendaal’s sculptures and Eloff’s nature-inspired lithographic monoprints and oil paintings complement one another and their love of, and skills in print, paint, pinched pottery, and more will delight all visitors to the exhibition.
