Uplands’s top musicians recently performed to an appreciative audience at the annual classical concert, held in the Uplands College hall.
The pupils proved that they are born performers and the audience was enthralled by their musical abilities.
Pupils from both the prep and college entertained the audience with various instruments, including voice, piano, violin, saxophone and flute. The Uplands Prep junior choir, directed by Felicia Lemmer, even dared to tackle the iconic Hallelujah Chorus from Handel, and ended off with a jazz song.
Guest artists Cassandra Monnig and Jenny Pott played a duet on flutes, while Janette Rottcher played an impressive piano composition by Franz Liszt.
As a surprise, Walter Fourie concluded the evening on a high note with an aria from a Spanish operette.
