Ledet officials promote tree planting in communities

Leshabane went on to discourage illegal sand mining and warned those who do not abide by the law that they will soon find themselves in serious trouble once they are caught illegally mining sand especially at rivers.

SEKHUKHUNE – Limpopo Economic Development Environment and Tourism ( LEDET)’s officials  visited Vleeschboom village to promote tree planting  in communities on Wednesday .

“Our aim is to teach communities across the Limpopo province the correct ways of planting trees and ensuring that they have a long life while using minimal water to keep them green,” said  environmental education officer, Patrick Leshabane.

He has been encouraging the communities to avoid burning forests, illegal dumping and deforestation as this has disastrous consequences for the environment.
