Maupa’s alleged murderers in court
He was attacked after closing his restaurant, which is situated just next to the R37. The case has been postponed to October 28 so the suspects can seek legal representation and for a formal bail application. The suspects were both remanded in custody.
BURGERSFORT – Two men appeared before the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court on Monday for the murder of Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality’s councillor, Thabang Maupa (42).

Dan Tjie (35) and Kagiso Maroga (34) were arrested by the Tubatse SAPS last Friday at Ga Maroga village. They appeared before the court on charges of murder and attempted murder.

Maupa was fatally shot outside his restaurant in Riba Cross on November 26 last year. This was just a few hours after acting as chief whip at the FTLM council meeting.
